lucas radebe backs uk consortium’s bid for leeds unitedBack
The City Talking have learned that Leeds United are the target of a takeover bid from a UK based consortium, with Lucas Radebe set to play a major part in the future of the club.
The group’s long term ambition is to bring European football back to Elland Road, and they have held discussions with Leeds United Supporters’ Trust about how the club’s fans can be involved in Leeds United’s future.
Although no timescale has been put on the takeover process, the group have plans in place to back manager Brian McDermott in the January transfer window, and see the Leeds manager as integral to their plans for the club.
Lucas Radebe, who saw Leeds beat Birmingham 4-0 on a recent visit to Elland Road, has given his backing to the bid, and we understand he would be given a role at Leeds United should the takeover be successful.
This would be the second takeover in twelve months for Leeds United, after Gulf Finance House Capital completed their purchase from Ken Bates in December 2012.
