best loan ever: bellusci makes leeds move permanent alreadyBack
The Warrior has yet to make an appearance for Leeds since joining on loan from Catania last week, but he must have impressed someone.
Either that or United need some more room for loanees in their squad.
The Italian defender’s season-long loan move has been turned into a permanent transfer, and he’s now contracted to Leeds until June 2018; he not only has a permanent contract, he now has a four-year permanent contract.
As the YEP’s Phil Hay pointed out on Twitter, turning a loan player into a Leeds player makes more room for another loan player:
Signing Bellusci permanently gives Leeds room for another loanee in their matchday squads. #lufc

A four-year deal, though, suggests a level of commitment to Bellusci over and above a technicality.
In his press conference this morning, Dave Hockaday said United had been given the green light to make more signings, but nobody thought he meant we’d be signing players who were already here.
International clearance for Leeds’ new number 5 came through before the 2–0 defeat to Brighton, but Bellusci, nicknamed The Warrior in Italy because apparently he tackles at head-height by default, watched from the bench as Pearce and Cooper kept their places after the Middlesbrough clean sheet.
