In October 2012, The City Talking produced the first Leeds Digital Fashion Week (LDFW). The idea was to use digital platforms to tell stories from Leeds’ fashion scene. We wanted to create the right conditions for talent to stay in the city and achieve their ambitions here.
The sixth volume of LDFW takes place from 16th — 20th of October 2017. We asked a few of our favourite illustrators and photographers to make work based on the feeling of colour and to tell us about it.
I am a British fashion and editorial photographer based in Leeds & London, UK. I have recently been working with clients such as Honey Clothing, London Fashion Week and i-D magazine, specialising in both studio and on-location portrait imagery. I currently freelance for modelling agencies such as Boss Model Management in Manchester and MiLK in London. I graduated in 2017 from Leeds Arts University with a first class degree in Photography.
For this shoot, I worked together with Fashion Stylist Georgia Roberts. I shot using a beauty dish covered with a Blue gel in order to create a blue tonal cast over the image. The brand the image was inspired by in terms of the garment and styling was Molly Goddard, in particular her latest collection that features tulle fabric. We used tulle fabric as a prop in this shoot to reference inspiration from our chosen brand. We are inspired by the texture and innovative shapes that Molly Goddard creates in her garments and we used our piece of Tulle is strange ways to create striking, structured images.
