Back

For our first A-Z issue in Sheffield, we asked our friends — people we’d featured in the paper — what they had enjoyed this past year, and what they were looking forward to in the next one. We then shared the questions with their friends, acquaintances and a whole bunch of people we’d never met but wanted to hear from anyway. Some of these people have always lived in Sheffield; others have travelled from far-away places to make the city their home. We’ve tried to talk to a diverse group of people from a wide range of sectors; artists, festival directors, CEOs, florists, musicians, wedding planners and picture framers have answered our questions.

The A-Z issue is compiled of hopes, dreams, memories — the ones you share as friends, colleagues and strangers in a city.  Next year, we hope to include even more.

Human

— 2015 —

My highlight of 2015 was the Human exhibition in Tokyo (SHEFFIELDTOKYO + 3). The whole team went out to Japan for the opening night and we had a ball.

— 2016 —

2016 is Sheffield’s Year of Making. It’s going to be a great twelve months for the steel city to show what it’s made of!

Hosting the start of the Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride and being featured in the Sunday Times Food Magazine.

Turner & Townsend

— 2015 —

One of my favourite memories of 2015 was moving into our (Turner & Townsend’s) new office on East Parade, adjacent to Sheffield Cathedral, last summer. We have been able to create a really exciting working environment with good quality space for our clients to attend meetings and use as informal working space when they need to. We’ve even taken the opportunity to decorate the office with quite a few images of iconic Sheffield buildings and views. It’s a great location to be in and has given us the space to support our growing business over the coming years.

— 2016 —

At the minute, I’m most looking forward to Sheffield’s Alternative MIPIM event in March, that we help organise. It’s always a brilliant event and draws together a large part of the Sheffield and South Yorkshire property industry to talk about what is going on in the city and meet new faces as well as catching up with the old ones. As in previous years, we have teamed up with Sheffield Children’s Hospital to raise funds to support the fantastic work they do. It promises to be a very well attended event so we hope to raise as much as we can for them.

Kojo&Lee

— 2015 —

My favourite memory of 2015 is signing the lease so the Kojo&Lee journey begins!

— 2016 —

What I am most looking forward to in 2016 is building my new team and also having some fun collaborating with fellow Sheffielders on fashion editorials.
